Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is an engineering method that calculates flow fields and their interactions with structures.

MMC expertise with ANSYS CFD software tools (Fluent® and CFX®) allows us to analyze complex fluid flows around boats, ships and appendages, as well as around and in hydrokinetic energy devices such as wave energy converters. We use CFD simulation results in our design process to optimize and fine tune our work. That is, CFD allows us to get “up close and personal” with a fluid flow problem, looking for stagnant areas, eddies and vortices, and other complicated fluid features.
